Rallying together on Earth Day

On Saturday, April 24, 2021, a group of 5&2 brothers and sisters participated in the District 7 Earth Day Clean Up in Oakland, CA, hosted by Oakland City Council member Treva Reid. Many local organizations and local residents joined together with the goal of cleaning up the streets. After signing in, we helped distribute vests and gloves to all the volunteers. Treva and various others then spoke a few words before breaking us into teams to spread out around the district to pick up trash.

With garbage bag in one hand and grabber tool in the other, we headed out together to try to make the community a little bit cleaner. We are thankful that we got to meet various people from different organizations as we served together. Through times like these, we pray for open doors to future opportunities where we can not only help serve but also share God’s love to the people in our community.
