5&2 Ministry

our mission

In Mark 6, Jesus is faced with a crowd of 5,000. Not wanting the crowd to go away hungry, he asks his disciples, “How many loaves do you have? Go and see.”

With the mere 5 loaves and 2 fish that the disciples bring, Jesus feeds thousands. That’s the spirit that fuels 5&2 ministry: seeking to serve our community with God’s love.”

UNHOUSED MINISTRY

Valentine’s Day of Compassion visit (Feb. 2021)

Our ministry has partnered with various organizations to volunteer at local shelters and encampments. We help serve meals, work on various shelter improvement projects, and interact with the residents. Through trying to get to know and love the unhoused, we have the opportunity to minister to them and share that they are not forgotten, but loved by God.

Step by step instructions, videos, and other resources to help you look for a new shelter, and ideas on what to do while your group is there. You can also sign up to serve at an existing shelter.

returning citizens

God led us to partner with the Dream Center in Oakland, California to teach important skills, such as computers, internet, and smart phones to returning citizens. Helping them with new technology gives them a chance to get back into and function well in society. In that way, we get a chance to bring humanity back to returning citizens after leaving prison.
